The Business Club announced their new Executive Board at their holiday party in December and are ready for the Spring semester! The club is open to all students, not just business majors/minors. For information contact the club at: bizclub@aur.edu

The Club bid farewell to President Sani Mushakwe (IR’ 17) and VP Halima Hassan (IR’17), both of whom graduated in December.

The AUR Business Club is the oldest club on campus (since 2004) and its mission is three-fold: social (have fun with like-minded students), functional (learn about business) and service (give back to the AUR community).
The Club is a hub for student life at AUR, hosting events such as a year-end retreat & BBQ, Business Etiquette Seminar/Dinner, New Student Aperitivo, and field trips. In addition, it organizes campus-wide events such as the recent 4th Annual AUR Apparel Fashion Show and BBQ and the fall excursion to the Marino Wine Festival.

Along with the fun, students learn what it takes to manage a highly-successful and much-needed campus business – AUR gear -- all those green & white branded T-shirts, sweatshirts, coffee mugs and other gadgets students love.
Club members experience what it is like to run a business, from market research, product development, and forecasting to supplier relations, inventory and sales. The process builds leadership and teamwork skills as well as practical experience in the field.
Once a month, students set up a shop in the Garden Shed to showcase and sell the newest AUR fashions, giving all a chance to “wear their colors” and give back to the university.

All proceeds from the merchandise sales are invested in Club activities and, in keeping with the service aspect of the Club’s mission, in giving back to the AUR community. Recent BizClub gifts include financing the installation of heaters in the campus courtyard, the purchase and installation of four electronic notice boards around campus, and the underwriting of tutoring services in the areas of Economics and Accounting.
