This year’s cohort of Business Capstoners (BS Business Administration, Class of '21) is benefitting from the expertise of those who have gone before them in a number of ways.
Recently, Sharya Mustafa (BUS ’20 - pictured right) Zoomed into our live class to do a tutorial on Market Line, a platform that is one of the most important library resources for Business Capstoners as they undertake their thesis research.
Sharya walked the students through the platform and shared insights from the experiences he and the other 24 members of the 2020 cohort had as they built the financial analysis portion of their theses.
Business Administration capstone projects take the format of a strategic audit, a full 360° analysis of a publicly-traded company, that stretches and challenges every student to demonstrate the full range of their prior learning - and have even helped lead directly to graduate employment for the thesis authors from the company under the spotlight!
The Business Capstoners of 2021 have already demonstrated a high level of esprit de corps as they have worked together through a very difficult year. It was hugely gratifying to see the same spirit still demonstrated by our wonderful alumni and students have already agreed that further insights from “survivors” of the Capstone process would be highly beneficial and motivating. In response, the program director, Professor Fitzsimmons, has agreed to invite a group of last year’s graduates to Zoom-in later in the semester where they will provide advice on how to prepare for final thesis presentations.
Ramping up for Graduate School.
Another useful Zoom session targeted to support current seniors is the upcoming “Ramping Up for Graduate School” event, which will feature another Business Administration graduate and Capstone survivor, Eileen Francesconi (AUR ’16), alongside representatives from Bocconi University’s graduate programs.
