A one-week summer educational tour & study program in the eternal city designed for participants of any age & experience.

The New York Law School (NYLS) and The American University of Rome (AUR) have partnered to offer this unique Summer School on Law and Global Society in Rome. The program will be delivered on AUR’s campus in June 2023.

Early in Spring '23, students from AUR's BA in International Relations and Global Politics, class of Humanitarian Assistance, visited the Italian Headquarters of UNCHR with Professor Cornet. There they met Enrico Guida, Protection Associate at UNCHR.

The ability to access the cultural assets of Rome is something that we probably take for granted, but for many people today, their culture and identity are under attack as never before.

Presented by the Italian Studies department at The American University of Rome, this series of four films & lectures focus on the lives of various protagonists in Rome and feature the characteristics and vitalities of Rome's neighbourhoods.

 

How do the UN food agencies work together to end world hunger?  What are the strengths and complementarities of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the World Food Programme (WFP)?

All events will be held in the AUR Auditorium in Rome and also streamed online via Zoom. Please register, at the foot of this page, to attend live or virtually.

Kendra Schneider doesn't let challenges stand in her way. Once upon a time, she decided, "on a whim," she says, that she needed to study in Rome. She arrived at AUR with her young daughter in tow "without knowing anything or anyone..." and hasn't looked back since.

This is a graduate-level, 2-credit, 30-hour seminar.

Led by Professor Valentina Dorato, the one-credit field trip course has been designed to present students with differentiated views of Sicily and its relationship with the mafia, as the island continues to develop an overt culture of mafia opposition and an enhanced rule of law.
